Acer Crataegifolium 'Calcaratum' (Chinese Maple) is a rare and distinctive maple species prized for its delicate, deeply lobed foliage and striking seasonal colour changes. The leaves emerge bright green in spring, developing deep red veins before turning a spectacular mix of yellow, orange, and crimson in autumn. Its elegant, upright growth habit makes it an excellent choice for feature planting, Japanese-style gardens, or woodland landscapes.
During spring, Acer Crataegifolium 'Calcaratum' (Chinese Maple) produces small, inconspicuous flowers, followed by winged samaras in late summer. Its smooth grey bark with subtle striations adds winter interest. This low-maintenance tree thrives in well-drained soil with a sheltered position, preferring full sun to partial shade.
