Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana (Bungalow Palm)
Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana (Bungalow Palm)
Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana (Bungalow Palm) is a graceful, fast-growing, evergreen palm native to subtropical and tropical rainforests of eastern Australia. It features a slender, smooth, grey trunk topped with an elegant crown of feathery, arching fronds. The foliage is bright green on the upper side and silvery underneath, adding a lush, tropical aesthetic. In summer, the palm produces clusters of small, purple flowers followed by striking red fruits that attract birds.
Thriving in full sun to partial shade, the Bungalow Palm is adaptable to a range of soil types as long as they are well-drained. It is moderately drought-tolerant once established and performs well in coastal conditions. Ideal for creating a tropical atmosphere, it works beautifully as a feature plant, in groupings, or for lining driveways and pathways. Its low-maintenance nature makes it a popular choice for home gardens and landscapes.
